What makes a "B it chin'" frame?
I took my late 80s Bianchi into the LBS for some spoke replacements and it was proclaimed to have a bi tc hin' frame, LOL.
So that got me thinkin'. What makes a frame *****in' just by sight? Steep angles/racy geometry? I'd love to know. |
It's a little black dress of bicycles.
Its nice, my guess is you are the looker. I sold a cute girl a black bike long ago, then took her out on some riding lessons. Those bike guys... be careful out there. |
The Bianchi decal.
|
Not that you're not cute or anything. Jus' sayin'.
|
Check out SANTE bikes he posted recently
|
It's got to be red to be *****in'
|
it is a sexxy old school Bianchi! that black and Celeste color scheme is just plain cool.
http://i380.photobucket.com/albums/o...lleher/098.jpg I always fawned over unusual bikes and today i think shop employees are tired of looking at all the cookie cutter carbon and alloy crap. |
Black paint with chrome dropouts. Race geometry.
|
A pretty bike and a pretty girl.....
Duh. You've got to know by now how men think. |
the correct spelling is ***** EN, not IN...not that that will get passed the filters but as a SoCal lad, we all knew how it was spelled back in THE DAY. Nobody else seems to get it.
|
The answer would be different for most people. I like a well crafted frame set and the name attached to it means little to me these days. The best crafted bicycle I have ever owned was a Pinarello Treviso. What a great bicycle that almost fitted me:-(

Haha, I don't think it's that, seeing as I know the guys there and hang out there way too much. Their actual words were - Wow, *****in frame, shame about the Exage on there. What are you going to put on it instead?
It's typical geometry for a sporty bike, the steel is cheap, but it's got a touch of Italian style that makes the sum greater than the total of it's parts. speaking of parts... that's bling. You really don't want to spend a ton of money blinging up a bike, the same money would get you a new bike. It adds up real fast. |

Oh you sexist C&V riders shame, shame on the lot of you! I bet Rookgirl has a B*&^h'in @$$ frame. I'd imagine it's a combination of a nice lugged 531 frame & grafics, matched to the components. One of my sons bikes it grey with red graphics outlined in black, it's sporting a black Brooks, black mudguards, red tires and bar wrap....pretty B(&*^ if you ask me.
|
On my Cinelli it's the combo of thin seat and chain stays, short wheelbase, pearlescent white paint and chrome half forks, rear triangle, lugs and yoke. All the Campag stuff helps too!:)
|
make sure there's a chrome rear fork or minimum chrome front fork, and pentograph's everywhere!! like randyjawa said about his pinarello, i noticed that a lot on my pinarello i ride, and the pinarello frame i just bought, there's marking, engravings, and cool paint fill in's everywhere. If all else fails to have a bi*ching frame, then i would say just add "c-record", it works for everything :D, even on a raleigh superbe, hahahaha j/k..

A lovely lady that works at a local shop pretty much always says "I love that frame" when I bring my Pinarello in. You'd think she'd tire of saying that but nope. The guys at City Bikes would often gush about my Univega Super Special. The dudes at Bridgetown Bicycles (the old one in Hollywood 'hood) would often freak out on my Mongoose, presumably because they all got to ride it and feel the love. |
