Intro to Classic and Vintage

I'm betting it's a mid- to late-60's Bottecchia Special. IIRC, it came with Campy Valentino deraiileurs (not particularly great) and Dolomiti rims with Campy high flange hubs. Frame would be all chromed under the paint, but not polished chrome.

Hey, welcome!

It is usually really difficult to get any information from serial numbers. Unless you have factory records it is often impossible, but with a lot of research it is sometimes possible to compile a useful database for a very large manufacturer. So with Bottecchia your odds are poor.

Do you have any of the components that came on your bike? If so, post photos of those. They change more frequently than frame designs, and usually give a pretty good indication of the age of a bike.

That would be my guess also. I have owned a few Bottecchia Specials and one special Bottecchia Special...
