Bicycle Repair Man !!!
Sorry all, we had to remove the original. It was getting warnings from cached picture URL's from a members site who got hacked by a bunch of Russians, even though he removed the images and took his site offline. Google has the domain blacklisted, which triggered false positives with many antivirus programs. Rather than constantly putting out fires with members getting nervous, I've quarantined the thread until he gets the URLs sanitized with Google, at which point I'll restore it and merge this thread in with it.
My site was shut down as soon as I was made aware of the hack and just re-booted the site yesterday so am waiting for Google to check things and take me off their black list and while they do that will be restoring some content, albeit slowly, as I had nearly a gig worth of bike porn that we had to dump just in case that data was compromised.
Damn commies.

This is a good excuse to take a few more pictures - 1977 Sabatini Record. A mix of Super and Nuovo Record.

VintageRide, you really must stop torturing me with posts of your Sabatini
Either that, or help me find one of my own; that's just the personification of "beautiful bicycle".

Drillium Dude, it is interesting that after owning it all these years I find myself wondering why I did not go after a Masi, Cinelli or De Rosa back then, but I really liked the color - it did not help that the shop had it in the window and that they were the closest to where I lived at the time. Once I took it for a ride it just felt right, it is only after looking at so many other very nice bikes in the last 2 or 3 years here and on other sites that I wonder if maybe I was missing out by not having owned one of those "grail bikes" - but then again there are many obscure and little known marques that have come to light with just as good craftsmanship that it is actually kind of nice to ride something out of the ordinary. I do find a fair number of cyclists making appreciative comments when I take it out occasionally, I just do not expect it so your comment is very much appreciated! It seems outside of the original 30 bikes sold out that shop in Calgary, Alberta back in the late '70's that the only real source would be Italy. I have often wondered what Mr. Sabatini's annual output was, as a small family business it must have been on the low end. It would also be interesting to find out where the 30 odd bikes ended up after all these years, off hand I have seen four other track bikes and one road bike on the internet. For what it is worth the "Record" model I bought was probably the base model, as there was also a "Special" that was made with Columbus SL with more intricate work on the frame and Super Record equipped. I replaced a number of components with Campagnolo shortly after purchase. I really wanted one of the "Specials" but the store owner talked me out of it - the reasoning being that the thinner SL tubing was somewhat fragile and that the SP tubing was more robust in the long term - so I took his advice. Given I am no heavy weight I doubt it would have mattered. Oh well. By the way, you have a very nice collection of bikes, some I have not seem before - which is great of course. If I had the room perhaps there would be more than the two I have, I have been tempted more often than not!

I picked up this 1981 Motobecane Grand Jubile Sport last weekend at a swap meet for very cheap. It needed a seat post and a saddle. I also put new brake calipers on it, new cables and bar tape. I took it for a spin last night and it's a very smooth rider.

I've a number of bikes I have never documented properly, and today's theme seems to be a mix of Ishiwata tubing and Shimano 600 arabesque parts. First up, 1980ish ( hard to date serial number) Trek 410. Campy Gran Sport hubs, Wright saddle.

It's rare to see the extra "Trek" decals on the DT, in fact, I've never seen another example like this one.

To continue the theme, 1979ish Ross Aristocrat. These were produced by Ross just prior to the Kellogg/Redkay signatures. They're not common, I know of one other Aristocrat. There was a model just above the Aristocrat, the Paragon (I have no idea what was on it, I've only seen one re-hacked example) and one just below, the Super Grand Tour XV which lacked the top tube cable run and had some lesser components in addition to a 600 group.
