Need help to ID this Pug

I am guessing a Ventoux or Versailles or something like that. Carbo 103, and the fork is not bent, just weird camera angle

Serial number?
Wheel size? Its neither of the models you mention. Steel wheels, stem shifters, lugless.....P6 or P8 |
Early PH10s came with (Simplex ratchet) stem shifters and turkey levers too, but if the rims are steel, then it could be a P8, as IIRC, PH10s came with aluminum Rigida rims. PH10s will also have Simplex SX610 RDs while P8s and lower models will most likely have Suntour VXGTs. PH10s had internally brazed, lugless, Carbolite 103 tubed construction too.

Forgot to mention i don't have it in posession yet, so no serial number. It had nice Rigida alloys, 27" x 1 1/8, a Peugeot RD and i think a Pug FD, a halfway decent vinyl saddle, I think the seatpost is steel, the shift levers are yes, I think Simplex ratchet, they did look okay though. Decent crankset, alloy, i forget the make.
These bikes are so damn confusing sometimes. I also thought some sort of P-something. The bike is in great shape, no rust just dirty as hell. |
Chombi, thanks again, you helped me out awhile ago. Question: is 103 just a re-branding (or predecessor label of) HLE? Not like I obsess about tubing, just curious, thanks

Take a tour of some of the Peugeot brochure threads/stickies in this site and you should be able to find more information on Carbolite and HLE tubing. Chombi |
I my bike is almost exactly the same except its red and does not have the "made in france" decal. I am pretty sure its a P8 but I am still having second guesses.
Here is mine. http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...820_213039.jpg I would be interested to see if you get a 100% positive ID to confirm my thoughts. |

Chombi, I think you may be right. the RD has that black plastic thing going on, (I think) but it's not the super-Crappy base Simplex like on a UO-8. It looks like it may actually shift. 30 hour project but the price is right. i own the wheels off it, put them on my Super Mirage , they are sweet. The freewheel runs smooth and has that wonderful old-time zzzzzzzz sound.
Thanks everyone for the help. I have a HLE P-4 Corbier, and like it a lot. made in Canada. I think it's like an '87. |
If it has alloy wheels its probably a PH10 from '82-'83.
|
Cool thanks.
