Your Favorite Cycling Photo of All Time

Not one you like at this moment, or one you used to like - I want to see The One that embodies everything you like about cycling.

This is mine - and, no, it's not a joke:

Anybody who's read Beverly Cleary's children's books series knows who Ramona Quimby is, and the story behind this picture. If you can aspire to be as fearless as someone who immediately goes tearing downhill her first time on two wheels, well, I guess you can aspire to be most anything.

Total commitment+lack of fear=fulfillment, at least in my book.

Certainly one of my favorites:

https://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wb8bAl1P-N...00-h/coppi.bmp

Coppi was just too freakin' cool.

Maybe someone can import the photo for me, since I suck at doing that.

Andy signed a print for me at NAHBS.

It will hang proudly in my classroom this year.

I'd like to check that link to be sure it's one I'm thinking of, but I didn't want to chance it. Something tells me my work wouldn't have a sense of humour...

Not my favorite (the "one man, one gear, one hour" is)

But, on cold lonely nights, I can imagine her getting really mad at me.....

I remember a picture in one of my bicycling books in the 80s where Jonathan Boyer is shown in his Austro Daimler team jersey leaning/relaxing against his AD team bike maybe before a race. I thought he really looked cool in that shot and I really related to that relaxed cool/bikie attitude he exuded in that pic back then. I also like magazine shots in the 80's showing Lemond at speed, laid out in his typical to the Gitane team very horizontal upper body position during the TDF races. The shots just amplify the sense of speed and bicycling aerodynamic position when you look at them. Stephen Roche also had really nice full side shots racing on his Peugoet in the TDF series that he won. I also like Pascal Simon's shot in the mid 80's Peugeot brochures where he had his PY10FC lifted over his head. Now I wish I kept all those brochures, mags and books that had them!

This one is mine. I bought it at an estate sale while out looking for road bikes. It was going to be a complete bust that day until I came across this beauty! Here is a link, as this is my first time uploading a fle here. Thanks!

1949 TdF. Coppi and Bartali. No one else in sight. (The shot of Eddy in Mexico City during his Hour record ride is pretty darn sweet, too. Isn't that a Windsor he's on? )
