Clear-backed decal edges + chrome + clear coat

Lots of thin layers of clear + eventual wet sanding? After four or five good sprays, some of the edges are still very sharp / visible. I can't stand to look at it, to the point I would remove the decals completely if it looks no better than this.

Any insight?

I'm not a fan of vinyl decals especially if they are bordered in clear. A solid color edge is marginally acceptable. To me they just look cheap.

Like I said: some of the edges have melded perfectly, with no issue, nor sanding. That leads me to believe it is indeed possible to have the rest do that. I'm just hoping someone will toss me some advice, before I go waste a lot of time and acrylic.
