Late 80s Italian made Bianchi? Superleggera?

Hello
I need a bit of help here. i recently bought a Celeste Bianchi that i was told was a Super Leggera that was custom order with different components than was was standard. hmmm. Serial number is N6 3641 found on the BB. has 'made in italy' sticker. ALL the components are Shimano 105, wheels are FIR made in italy. Tubing has grey columbus sticker that says 'cromor'

thinking i have been had, it was in the heat of the moment while blinded by Celeste.

I'm by no means an expert, but I would have to say that this is definitely not a Superleggera since it has Columbus Cromor tubing (not that Cromor is so bad, really). Also, I have to say I have never seen a Bianchi with the fork crown that yours has. In my opinion, much nicer looking than the ugly shield logo. Very curious to hear what Bianchigirll has to say about that fork crown!

Thanks, and yes, I am prepared to hear it is not a Superleggera. Gulp. As i understand it Bianchigirl is THE authority. Hope she sheds some light on the serial number.

Custom ordered with all different parts, heh.

People will say anything to sell a bike. Would help to see the whole thing.

The serial # indicates 1986 manufacture, 14th fortnight (around the middle of July). Or is that a 9.N, making it 1989? I'm going to have to check the format order.

Edit: I do think it's supposed to be letter.number, but the rest of the bike doesn't strike me as an '86. It's possible the format varies by year. I'm going 14th fortnight 1989 as my final.

Another forum member, a fellow in Thunder Bay, recently scored a Superleggera, and it was fitted with Shimano 105 components. I can't recall the tube type but it just might be the same as the one presented by the OP.

Calling kilgortrout - can you help us out on this one?

I've never seen an 80's vintage Superleggera that wasn't SL in early 80's and SLX in later 80's. The OP's is Cromor.

I don't think it's a Superleggera.

What happened to my post??? I thought sure I posted here a few hours ago.

OK if that bike was in the US I would say it was a Campione de Italia frameset from '89. a Super Leggera would have a differnt shade of "Mint Celese" and SL tubing for a '88 and SLX for a '89or90

it is possible that is a Canadian model CdI but I don't think a Super Leggera would have come with a CroMor frame or 105

Actually, that follow my research on the components. according to http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...tecodes001.jpg the Shimano comps are dated as N or '89

Could be a Cdi actually. dont judge the shade of Celeste, iphone can really change the colour depending on lighting levels. Question, are there known differences?

one more clue, the stem is black with "Bianchi" lazered into the side. headset are Black and the brakes and levers are a blackish-green-metallic colour.

Thank you all for spending some of your time on this. Much appreciated.
