Shimano 105 on a Raleigh Super Course

Hey everyone,
I am currently riding1973 Raleigh Super Course, and I was wondering if it would be possible to switch the drivetrain over to a new shimano 105 8speed setup with brifters?
I have seen classic bikes with modern drivetrains a few times in here, and was wondering if anyone has experience with the change over?

There is a guy that is down the street from me selling the set up because he upgraded his to dura ace.He is asking for $250 for all of it, do you guys think its worth the money or worth changing the bike over?

Decent price for the group, in my opinion but I am not sure I would want to modify the Raleigh frame set to accommodate the wider drop space needed to accommodate the new hub. You will be going from 120mm to 130mm and that, in my mind, is quite a bit to bend the stays.

None the less, it should work, but I personally would never attempt such a modification.
