No, that one doesn't have 15 gears.

That one is obviously a newer version.

The point of the couple of responses, max06elvis, is that you have not given nearly enough information for anyone to help you out. Good quality pictures of the full bike, both sides and close ups of frame details, and component details, will probably produce a great deal more help.

You can determine the vintage of your bicycle by applying some of the information contained in How Old Is My Bike? But if you want anything more than that, you will need to invest more effort sharing what information you have, remembering, of course, that a picture is worth a thousand words.

I hope this is a help and let's see some pictures, please.

By the way, welcome to the Bicycles Forum. The folks here can be a tremendous resource, given a decent chance.

Any model you can't find on google (I am assuming you googled it), is very likely a private label/store branded bike. Store branded bikes from the 1970s were usually pretty crappy, but some of the store branded stuff from the 1980s and newer can be pretty good. It depends on the components, what the frame is made out of, and so on.

There's a lot of really nice 15 speed bikes out there and a lot not so nice. Hopefully you got one of the nice ones.

Well, a quick search on google showed a pretty good discussion on Sentinel bikes on this forum.

BF archived Sentinel thread: http://www.bikeforums.net/archive/in...p/t-87000.html

Which I found a little while ago myself when searching for information on this:

A Sentinel Whisper. Lugged frame, Shimano 600 derailleurs, bar ends, Ideale 90 saddle. A nice elderly lady from my neighborhood saw my bikes for sale on my front lawn, spoke with me about her late husband's bike, and insisted that I take it off her hands for an embarassingly low price. Too small for me, so I'm selling it but I'm keeping the saddle.
