where can i find a 1979 schwinn travelers specs? and measurments
hey folks, i just moved to an urban area with tons of things to do and nowhere to park. so i started biking again. i have an old 79 schwinn traveler that has seen better days, bent/rusted rims, rusted handle bars and rusted fork. i like the frame though. i can't seem to find anything on the net about the measurements needed to replace these parts, the wheels won't be a big issue. but i can't figure out what kind of fork i'm going to need. i have found a few 27" varsity forks but don't know if they'd work on my traveler. and ideas on where i can find these dimensions of the bike?

Here is a bit of info.

You could buy a caliper and measure your parts.
Seems like Pastor Bob has this same bike -- perhaps he can give you specifics.

thanks for replying i really appreciate it. that linked helped out! i couldn't find any info on the bike really. I'm just having fun with this bike i decided, its probably not worth putting tons of money into it. i want to get familiar with assembling the shifters and what not. experiment with painting it, stuff like that. this will be a newbie project for sure. thanks again for the reply and link. BTW who is Pastor bob?
