Anyone else want to bump it up to a 0900 or 0930 start at Foster? Don't want anyone to not read the update and then get left behind at Foster....

Since I moved out of the city as of September 1, I'm afraid I'll be with you in spirit only. I hope everyone has a great ride!

And to think, I could have chosen between my 87 Trek 560EX or my newly built-up charcoal gray 83 Traveler, complete with rando bars, Brooks saddle, rear rack and SKS fenders. Dam.

Something came up and I don't think I'll be able to make it.

As mentioned, please take lots of pics, and hope you all have a blast!

I'm still willing. Anyone got a bike (size 58 to 63cm)? I could always bring a modern steel bike. The rider is vintage!

Michael,

Feel free to bring the modern bike. But, if not, you can ride either my Medici or Merckx, as either should fit you? The Medici sports clips and the Merckx (9spd. ergo) sports SPDs (the horror!).

I will either ride my Mercian or Cinelli. Probably the Cinelli (hasn't been ridden in forever) even though i haven't switched from sidepull to centerpulls yet (which is why it hasn't been ridden much. The sidepulls are too short in the rear).

All,

Why don't we stick with the original time frame? I don't think that we'll have too many riders but I don't want to leave anyone behind that didn't check for updates or who only saw this on the Chainlink.

If you need to, feel free to call me on my cell at 773-885-6322 for updates or issues tomorrow morning. I get up early....

See you tomorrow!

I had a terrific time riding today and meet all of you guys. Bob, thanks so much for putting it together.

How often do you get to ride among bikes like Gios, Cinelli, Frejus and other great looking steel and aluminum rides at the same time?

This was a Chicago day at its best!

You sure had a great day for it! I hd to take care of family stuff this morning, but still managed a meager 20 or so miles throughout the day with my wife. I think we'll go out tonight again- it's still really nice weather.

I spent some time on my Cinelli, then on the Raleigh. I'll probably take the Bottecchia or Paramount out tonight..

Wish I could have come out this morning... ;(

Had a great time either meeting everyone or seeing them again. The weather was amazing. Of course, that meant that it was more of an obstacle course than a ride.... My home internet is on the fritz at the moment, so it may take a day or two for me to post any photos.

Some highlights of the day were watching iab accelerate away like a rocket on his slightly noisy '33 Frejus. Impressive. Who needs a modern bike or more than three gears anyway?

It was great to hang out at the end over beer, sangria, and blue cheese burgers..

We'll have to do this again soon. Hopefully, some of the folks that couldn't make it will be able to join in the future...

Slow, but may be able to get a couple photos up...

Clockwise from bottom left:

GiosCinelli, Barrettscv, Mrs. Bibliobob, B Dub, Phyllis, Joe, Alan, Will, Kent, and Ed.

iab, Night Tiger, Chicago Al, and a few others had to peel off before heading to Moody's... Shame, because that may have been the best part!

My best side.

Thanks Bob for the ride and weather. Both were outstanding. And BTW, the Badgers won 3-2. Sorry Michigan fans.

My pictures.

Really bummed I had to miss this. I got a call to work audio on a movie that same day...bike needs new shoes... And then after that, it was a wash. Gah.

Glad you all had fun - awesome weather and some great C&V eye candy.
