I know this is a thin line......

I am not asking for a current appraisal; just what this bike may have sold for when new. Usually info like this is fairly easy to find; but I am having very little luck.

Any ideas what the retail was on this bike when it sold back in '88??

Thanks for your help......

This is a guess, since I'm not that familiar with the bike, but based on the gruppo, I'll say around $400.

1988? That strikes me as a bit early for 500EX and that style of dual pivot brake.

500ex was early 90s; you're correct in this statement. $400-500 is my stab (and probably close to that still - boo about that inflation thing).

Can't tell which model it is but Miele made some pretty decent bikes.

I paid 500 bucks for mine here in Norcal a year or so ago.
I thought it was about an OK deal given the local market,
but it did require some expert tinkering to get it rideable.

Mine was reworked and possibly repainted sometime in its life,
thus the brifters and wider rear spacing. These are very obscure
and thus underrated (and often under priced because of it.)

But I think for what it sold for, you need T-Mar or Randy.

Cicli isn't a model as far as I can tell.

A 1993 Miele Svelto might be an exact match.
