@ergillma, your sports is from the mid- or late-70's, as evidenced by the down tube logo font and the self-adjusting brake levers. If the rear hub says 69, then it has been upgraded, so to speak.

Just finished up reconditioning my '73 Raleigh Grand Sports. I wish I had taken some 'before' pictures because it was in pretty bad shape.

'75 Grand Prix Mixte after a bit of spit and polish

and its lonely mate, a '74 Grand Prix hanging in the rafters still in need of serious rehab...

that may have to come at the hand of someone else...

I am looking for some touch-up paint for my 74 Raleigh Sports. It is the dark green (metallic?) color. Does anyone know if there is a model paint color that is a close match? I

1975 single speed Tourist
Grand Prix, has a 1978 Tour de France Team Raleigh sticker, a '79? 27 1/2" frame, plan to make it a 3-speed that fits me.

This is my college Raleigh Grand Prix. Guessing 1969 or so. I'm ashamed I didn't take better care of it, as the paint is quite yucky, but I've gotten back into riding lately and so I've tried to fix it up. The rear derailleur crashed the spokes so I replaced it.
In fixing this up, I was amazed at how well the chromed parts held up. A few swipes with fine steel wool produced an amazing shine. Simple Green cleaning solution worked great for the 45 years worth of gunked up chain and sprockets. Replaced all the cables and just recently replaced the seat with a honey Brooks to match the cork grips.
Really enjoy the ride!

I had so much fun fixing up the above Gran Prix, I stumbled on a 73 Raleigh Record Mixte (?) that I insisted my sister get. Turned out this was the exact model she had in college freshman year that got stolen the first week. For $50 I figured there wasn't much downside, but it was in pretty good shape. Replaced brake levers, handlebar, cables, tires etc and this one cleaned up nicely as well!

Bar Ends Forever
Here's my 1987 Raleigh Mountain Tour Teton. It's definitely not the best bike in this thread but it gets me around comfortably with no issues. I'll be getting a 1983 Blackburn rack for it in the mail soon.
I'd love to do a drop bar conversion but I don't have the money, and I feel like I'd probably mess it up anyway.

It's the only bike I have, so I hope it lasts a while!

My 1987 Raleigh Kelloggs Pro Tour refurbished. It was bought for my son new but ad been sat in his garage for years till I dug it out stripped, cleaned, repaired and re-sprayed (powder coated) to original colours and then sourced original decals.

Here is my 1971 Raleigh Pro track bike. I raced it last year. I haven't ridden it once this year.
Not original. I bought it last year as a frameset.

That one is the most unique I have, I think. @Flog00 and I tried to find out more about it...but have really not come up with anything other than it is a 1964 (dated by the saddle on it!). I believe that it immigrated to the US...but...I know not from where!

Sweetness, Tom. I'm a sucker for Raleighs. Will have to finish up a couple tweaks and take pictures of mine for the thread.
