Gee I bet no one thought I had a grainy pic of a Raleigh Sport, she's a 72 and was my very first wrenching project. 
oh and does my 72 Centurion LeMans count? It's a grand prix frame in disguise.. lol.

Yeah, those later Raleigh Records are a huge improvement over the earlier '70s versions.

Oh, I forgot my 1985 Raleigh Competition, I let the wife ride this one.
Lastly, but not least, my SUPER BEATER, 1986 Raleigh Grand Prix. This bikes takes on the all the bad weather, rain, snow, also does chain up duty. I don't chain up my other Raleighs, they come with me. But, this one, I can chain it up any where and forget it.
BTW, it might be ugly, and rusty, but it has a good ride...

Apologies, as some of these are still in the project stage......
A RRA frame that came to me as frame and fork only.
Destined to be an IGH wonderbike in the not too distant future.
A Pro from the anniversary year that is still waiting for me
to come up with a clincher wheelset.
Same year (anniversary headbadge) Supercourse. A favorite
because..........just because.
My first Competitition, which came to me like this.
But now looks like this.
The Midnight Rider. A somewhat modified 70's Sports.
Second Comp which had been Shimanocized (none too artfully)
but after much head scratching and fiddle****ing is, as of yesterday,
a first class ride.
There's another Pro in the garage somewhere in pieces.

Appears we have almost identical bikes. I see a difference in your cranks and your derailer. I bought my bike as stated in my first post #2 in 1983 so I am assuming it is a 1983 Grand Prix. I see you state yours is a 1984. My cranks are original stamped "Raleigh 170mm" and my derailers are Suntour AXR. I have obviously changed a few things recently but most others were identical you your bike in every way including the brake levers as well as the positioning of them more upward. I am a tall person at 6'4" 220 lbs so I made a few modifications to the seatpost and the new style quill and stem (130mm) with a height extention also. Other than that, this bike is extremely heavy duty for my large size.
Curious what cranks and derailers you have? If they are Raliegh, then they changed the design. My guess is they are either a different gruppo option in the years to come OR you changed them to aftermarket for some reason.

I'm still working on this one. Late 80's, Reynolds 753 and O'Donovan endorsed. Frame is crazy light.
Finally can build up an appropriate wheelset, as my hunt for a set of NOS Rigida 1320 in jet black came to fruition.
Other than that I need a Cyclone triple fd with black ano and we're on the road.

I could totally go for that Prestige. A chromed-out Raleigh with a sloping fork crown and Superbe? Yes, please.
Here are a few that have passed through my hands:
'72 Grand Sport
Finished here. Was very close to complete when I got it.
Another '73(?) Grand Sport
As it came with the other. Built up with bar-ends, triple front, and Suntour derailleurs for touring/commuting, but forgot to take pictures before I sold it.
'74 Grand Prix
Pieced together from an original, but tattered, bike to what's shown. Commuted on this one for a while before picking up a better-fitting Centurion.
