It's a Shimano Light Action. I put one on another SC, because I find that they are decent and underrated derailleurs. My remaining two SC's have a Suntour V-GT and a Huret Challenger. Probably the VGT is the smoothest, but the others are close seconds.

I can't afford a Super LJ anymore without taking out a second mortgage!
From that angle and distance, the Shimano Light Action looks a bit similar to the LJ, is why I asked.

1974 Gran Sport
This is by far the furthest I've ever gone to pick up a bike found on CL: Maryland to Maine. (I added it to a trip to see my parents in MA over Christmas.) Worth every mile. It's a one owner '74 Gran Sport. It had a swapped out saddle but was otherwise all original and came with the Bluemels. I bough my very first factory new Brooks for it, and added the Suntour mechs and bar-cons. (Simplex are boxed for posterity.) Fits me perfectly and rides great. I don't think they sold a lot of GS's even during the boom - I waited a looong time to find one in my size.

Here's the Super Course 12 I picked up a couple of days ago. Its a "tad" big for me, I ride a 22 inch, and this one's a 25 1/2. Its mostly original, missing a couple of parts. Fortunately I had picked up a Super Grand Prix of the same year donor bike.

- And you are absolutely right - they made relatively few of these and they're very hard to find - despite the fact that many owners don't seem to know/care what real gems these bikes reallly are.

The Superbe is known to a lot of my friends as my 'rehab bike'. I had gotten whacked by a car a few weeks before and was seriously considering hanging up riding after almost 50 years. While recovering, friend asked me if I felt like getting out of the house for a few hours and going to a bike swap with him. I agreed because cabin fever in August really sucks and I knew he was trying to get me out of my funk. So, wandering around the swap on my crutches, I spot this beat up but mostly complete Superbe. I ask the seller the price and when I was told $15, I(and Carl will vouch for me)almost fell off my crutches reaching for my wallet.
I spent the next few weeks rebuilding the bike while standing on crutches and every morning, while Mrs. Bikamper was at work, I'd try to throw my leg over it and and go to the end of my driveway while trying to get my knees to work again. The moment when the 'rehab' started working was when I was able to turn around at the end of the drive and pedal back up towards the house. One of those 'Zen' moments. The Superbe has gone almost 5000 miles since.
Youngest daughters 77 Sports. Her six dollar steal.

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
From this afternoon... went for a pootle on the 1972 Raleigh 20 since it was such a beautiful winter day.
Saddle is a 1951 Brooks and have changed a few things like the levers and grips...
Was at the co-op today and decided I should build that new alloy rear wheel which will serve me well until I build up a 5 speed wheel... decided to let the old fella sleep in the house tonight.

1978(?) Raleigh Sprite with all original parts except for a new rear derailleur.
I had new bars and a new seat put on (the original was ripped).
And oddly enough, I found it's girlfriend in a trash pile several months later. She obviously needs some cleaning up though.

Here is a pretty crappy picture of my daughter's 1984 Raleigh Team Professional. It would have been nice if it had the original team colors (red & black) or the Panasonic version of the team colors (white, blue, yellow). Oh well, it is still a very nice bike painted all white with the white Sante' gruppo.
