Latest addition to the stable: an '84 Competition (European model). Still has the original bar tape. I like the seat cluster.

Somehow Raleighs always come in droves. Even though -as mrs non-fixie puts it - I have enough bikes, I could not resist this one: a 1979 Record in very original condition. Reynolds 531 frame and forks, Campagnolo dropouts, Normandy hubs, Rigida rims, Suntour Vx Rd, Suntour Power shifters, Weinmann 605 brakes. Pity no-one has looked after it for the past twenty-five years or so. It needs a lot of TLC.

'62 Raleigh Gran Sport. Now it has Bluemels and a few more period details restored to it.

Tim Potter caught my G.S. as she looked on display at the Bloomer park Velodrome last Saturday.

Bad picture, but it's what I have for now. I haven't even begun to tune it, clean it up, and change a couple components on it. I love it anyways, though.

My Vintage Raleighs
I'm starting to really enjoy these bikes. All are rideable, the 86 Black Sprite and the ladies Emerald Green 76 Sprite are restored/refurbished. The 1980 Record? is a work in progress. The Emerald Mens 1975 Sprite is made in England. The others were all made in Canada. All four have come to me since March this year.

Yet another Raleigh I couldn't resist. A late '79 (1980 model) Competition. The grease is all gummed up, the oil has left long ago, and there is play in all the bearings. Otherwise it is in decent shape
. It has been rebuilt at some point in the 80's with Shimano 600 parts. It needs a full service and some TLC, but after that it should be a very nice bike.

Yet another picture of my Team Pro.

1972 Super Course

1979 Competition, For sale in the near future.

1978 Super Gran Prix, too big for me, needs to go. Got it NOS, still looks new.

I love these old Raleigh pix ! Good thread !
I just picked up this Mixte '85 -'86 Marathon & will probably flip it as is, or after restoration . It needs some work but will make a nice ride. I will restore it , in time, but got several others ahead of it. If I get it done, I will post a finished pix.

This thread is keeping me busy! Found a little brother for my Competition (see post # 177). Built in December 1983, it is still fully original, with the notable exception of the ugly black clinchers. There are some scratches, probably from storage, but it hasn't been ridden much. The PO was way too small for this bike.

I'm not in the habit of buying two of everything, but I have ridden the larger of the two quite a lot this summer and I really love it. And Raleighs seem to be hugely undervalued here, and come along often at prices I can't resist. And as my pension fund doesn't seem to be doing very well ...
