The original levers are drilled Superbe, is an upgrade a bad thing when having a bike this old?
I would leave it just as it is and replace the hoods:

They'll fit your levers well enough for $23.

The Superbe non-aero levers take Campy NR/SR pattern hoods....you could use Campy as well

Got a PM but couldn't reply, not enough posts yet, thought I would post up here.

This one is a keeper, check out my post about how I found it! https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...1#post13769846

I ride a 57cm and I couldn't believe this "find" is exactly my size! I had a S10-S back in the day, same color as the one above. This Newest is way cool. Thanks for the interest though, I plan on doing a mild restoration this winter on it.

It really is, it went to a new owner this afternoon. A little sellers remorse already, but onto the next.

1981 Fuji America

Recently completed my 1981 Fuji America. I picked this up from a flipper who got it from the original owner, his Pastor. Notice the original TrimLine tires, pump and bottle still on from when it was new, I always love those touches. I will be riding this on a fairly regular basis now that photos are complete, and after I true the wheels and change the tires. I did take it out for about 10 miles as-is; notice cracking in tires, yikes! Rides wonderful though and fits my 6'5" frame very well.

P.S. Yes, I love catalog correct, down to the reflectors and dork disc.

I LOVE old Fujis!!

Mine's a 2003 League; one of Fuji's last generation of traditional steel frames. Of course they're nowhere near as lovely as the older lugged ones, but I did a little research on these and found out they were actually subcontracted to Toyo and built in their Taiwan shop, the same one that builds frames for Rivendell. The welds are clean and the ride is nimble & responsive, a true hidden gem.

I'd pretty much kill for a 1990 Black Ace or a red & white '89 Club; they turn up on eBay & CL every so often, but they're always sold by the time I spot the ads!

Beautiful, simply beautiful. Pump, bottle, saddle and reflectors, all of the items that get lost or swapped out over time. Swap out the tires but don't throw the old ones away.

Nice looking Fuji. Those red and white clubs were nice bikes but IMHO there are much nicer Fujis from that period to look for other thanthe ACE. Like the Cdale lightning one of the two years was better than the other both always look cheesy to me for some reason. The Roubuix or Teams were nicer and I don't believe as sought out as the 'sexxy' black ACE.

I'm always looking for new additions for my blog. If you have some good, clear, crisp photos of a special Fuji in your life that you're willing to share, please let me know. I love bikes with history, restorations, your first Fuji, etc. Also, pics of Fuji bottles and Fuji gear, Fujita, etc. Stories are good too. Anything that you'd like to show off.

1984 Fuji Espree, not particularly high end but I love vintage Fujis and really like the burgundy. Shimano 600 brakes and levers that was installed before I got it. I put on new bar tape, 34T chainring, and 1.25" paselas to tackle the hilly gravel roads in my area.

Just landed this 1982 Team Fuji off of Craigslist this evening. Save for the tires, completely stock as far as I can tell, and in perfect working order. Replaced the saddle with a white Selle San Marco Rolls Titanio that I had picked up a couple of weeks ago, and I'm going to re-wrap the bars to match soon.

Now, I've just got to get the hang of riding a proper road bike after not having been on one this side of middle school...

Edit: Just shy of two months down the road, here she is in her current form, now that a few of the kinks have been worked out.

Very nice! I believe I saw this floating around CL in the Bay Area for a while. Looks like a very nice vintage Fuji indeed. Also, nice to see a local Fuji enthusiast!
