I just picked up an '81 Fuji America last week that should get posted up on here if I could only figure out why the attachment won't load! It doesn't have any decals anymore and the only SunTour left on it is the dropouts, but it's a sweet, sweet bike. The original owner clearly loved it, but the owner I bought it from just as clearly neglected it. There's some rust on the chrome and the original pedals are gone, replaced by Scott clip in things. Work is in progress fixing both of those.
Not sure what my plans are for the bike at the moment. I had planned a full touring build but the wheels are 27" so that might be out the window. Pics to follow soon I hope!
Edit: I should point out that the SunTour stuff was replaced with Campy NR and Shimano Dura Ace DT shifters and brakes!

Respons to required by fuji law. Bike needs washed before pics and its November. Number on bottom of frame is J58019. I purchased the bike in a 58, so I am guessing frame is 58, and frame number is 019. But whats the J for.

I just finished building up my new to me Fuji Opus III frame. I only had Suntour Cyclone components so I put on a Superbe RD as an ode to the original components on the bike.
I need to order a replacement FUJI decal for the seat tube and it'll be complete.

Thanks. They were in pretty good shape already, but I hit them with Meguiar's swirl remover and then waxed them.

Thanks for the tip bloud. They dont have what i need on their site, so i will call and see what they can do for me. In regards to the numbers on my bottom bracket, I find it interesting that the J would signnify made in japan, but that the bike clearly states made in the USA. Does anyone know where the Titanium frames were made?

I just picked up an '86 Fuji Team. Reasonable shape, crusty hoods seems to be the worst of it. I was hoping it would have the OE Sprint group, but instead it has - except for the Sprint brakes - a tri-color 600 7s group, w/wheels, shifters, FD, RD and cranks. Pics will have to come later. I'm in the middle of a basement remodel project.

Great thread!
I have a question.....not being so familiar I'm wondering what ya'll think about a Del Rey? There was one listed on CL here that was supposedly 80's and said it was a 10sp. They were asking 125.00.
Is this a mid-level quality offering from Fuji?

So if I pick up a OpusIII thats missing its original Gold wheels (has a set of Mavic tubular on it now) how much hate would I get if I hung a full 105SC STI group on it including Araya wheels? Would it be less if I hung some 600 Tricolor derailleurs and cranks (still have the 105SC brifters)?
On the fence about one, frame has some paint issues.

I think only the '83 Opus III had gold rims. It's a nice frame, just take care of the rust if any, build her up with what you have and get her back on the road.

I hope it's current owner doesn't mind me posting photos of his Team that I took during the facilitation process. Thanks to 4Rings6Stars for making it all happen.
