It is kind of a hodge podge of whats on it instead of a complete group and it came that way according to the catalog.

The Levers/hoods are Gran Compe that appear to be original. Pretty dry. I think they will split when I try to roll them to replace the Tape. Normaly I'd just swap on some Aero's but I think I want to stay original on this one.

Now, after a month with it, new crank/BB/freewheel, new wheels, new bar tape, panaracer RidMo's (700x25), new chain, general cleaning, and WILL get new pedals (w/toe clips), probably Monday.
Here's a new pic of the Sports 10. Outdoors after its maiden ride (which was great!).

edit: oh and also I won't need to get new pedals. The old ones were seized and one side had a dent in them. But I was able to get them out and hammer/pry out the dent. After that I cleaned them up with degreaser and then re-lubed them. Look good now, so I added some nice toe clips I got. Work perfect!

If the GC's are the model with the post rather than the wrap around band, you can position the mount, bar wrap around the post then put the lever handle right over the tape. That way you don't have to roll the hoods up .. You probably already know this but just checking.

Hi all, I have a totally stock 1978 Fuji S-12-S copper color in really good shape. Looking to get rid of it. I don't want to pay shipping. Anyone interested, I'll sell it cheap.

1972 Fuji Finest - Top-tube decal or no Top-tube decal

I've got a question for owners of a 1972 Fuji Finest. Does yours have a top-tube decal and what is your serial number? FYI, a 1972 should start with K7?#####

I have a K7B02571 it does not have a top-tube decal. I also picked up a 1972 K7B03## which does have a top-tube decal.

Trying to figure out if there was a switch to the decal or mine is just missing. In the 1972 catalog, the bike pictured does not have it.

I have a white newest I can't pin the year down on that doesn't have a TT decal. In the process of adding indexed stem shifters (don't shoot) to get it out of storage and under one of my dad's friends. I figure that's better than it sitting around. It'd already been altered- chromed steel rims, some nutso bar tape padded with pipe insulation, a sun tour 7 RD, a Raleigh seat and a pair of ofmega dt shifters, so I figured the damage had already been done. Oh, and it's bloody HUGE.

This pic makes the fork look bent, rest assured, it isn't.

EDIT: picked this one up off Craigslist a couple weeks back with an awesome set of vintage wheels. Any ideas as far as a model?

A old and wise Fuji veteran told me once never trust the catalogs. Lot's of things sometimes changed between the photography and it's placement in the market. My '71 serial number is 6G07350 and it didn't have the top tube decal but had the small striped bands on the stays and fork which didn't show up until the '73 catalog. I suspect within the same model year the top tube decal was added. I'd say go for it!

Is this a mid-level quality offering from Fuji?
Did you get the Del Rey? I used to have an '82, cream color. It was a quad butted frame, and at first I didn't like the color, but it really grew on me. I let it go thinking it was too big for me, but it really wasn't. Wish I still had it! I had it set up with bar end shifters. It is a quality bike, worth $125, but I still would have tried to get it for less. Anyway, let us know if you got it!

Thanks! This furthers my theory that somewhere after K7B02571 they may have started putting the top-tube decal on. K7E is May, 72.
