Found a Team Pro and 44 cm handlebar at my LBS. Old stuff from the back room. Cleaned up nicely. Put the old Technomic Deluxe back in service to get more reach. New shifter cables and housing (along with better routing) cured the lazy gear changing. Topped it off with doubled-up cloth tape. Put 30 miles on it yesterday. Sweet!

No lugs? My 1987 Palisade has a lug or two.

Whoa now, that's pretty neat. I didn't realize the Ecco had a brother also with oversized tubing.

Thanks Scott. Takes but only a few tweaks to personalize and update these classics. They already have the "right stuff".
Kudos on the brace of Professionals.

I know, but I'm a sucker for lugs. What can I say?

It rode nice, frame was stiff. I just had to downsize, and without lugs she was put on the chopping block.

Hey All,

Just recently discovered this thread. The past couple years I have been collecting old-school Fuji BMX bikes and am now moving onto road bikes as well. Nice to see that Fuji has its own thread. I'm big on good stories and the history surrounding Fuji.

I created FujiBMX.com a couple years ago as there was little to no information on their old BMX bikes, which for the time period were really very unique and quality machines (the Feather Professionals anyway).

I've got a couple bikes I'll add to the thread once I get some photos taken. Stuff some of you guys probably haven't seen in person, or seen in a very long time.

Hi Bloud,

I recently discovered your website and I think it's awesome! The BMX side of Fuji is where I'm lacking in knowledge so your site is a great resource. If you don't mind I'll post a link to FujiBMX on my blog!

I'd love to find a 1980 Fuji Feather Professional to photograph someday ..

Welcome to BikeForums and especially the Fuji club!

Scott

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have been slowly acquiring the Professionals. The image below is a 1979 rescued from a metal salvage yard believe it or not. It has been under restoration for a couple years now. Many $$ in and getting close. The hardest part is the decals and the headbage, as the road bike version which are easier to aqcuire are different.

Interesting, is the head badge a different size than the road versions? From this angle it looks like a "tall" Mt. Fuji badge. One of my group may have one if it's the same size ..

Yes, it is the tall version. If you can help me acquire one that would be amazing! I had just begun researching how to redo the enamel inlay...

Here's a photo of it:

Give me a few days to track one down, there might be a slim chance one will turn up.

You're planning to re-paint, correct? I bet JR at Velocals.com can easily do the decals for you.

Here's what the C&V'ers had to say when I asked about restoring a Fuji headbadge.

If you hear of any good ideas, it would be great if you could mention them there. Or here.

Yes, repaint as well as repairing dents. The frame is pretty rough in a few areas. I have a graphic artist recreating all the artwork now, then the process will be which printing type as some are stick on decals and others as water slide type. The decals on the downtube of the frame were not stickers, but water slide type.

I might have to sell some of my collection just to fund the cost of recreation, die-cutting and printing. ;-) I'm clearly not doing this for ROI in dollar value, it's simply the challenge. Took me a year to find ONE set of Sugino Mighty Tour cranks in 175mm, yet to see another set anywhere.

Mid 80's Allegro

Picked this one up over the weekend. I love this Champagne color but the frame is way too small for me (19"). This one will be heading to the sales side tomorrow to help fund my bike habit.

Anyone have a parts list for original components on a 72 Finest? Most specifically looking for bars, stem, seat and seatpost at the moment.

Almost 99% sure...

Bars: Nitto 105 Olympiade
Stem: Nitto Pearl, early logo, looks like this:

Saddle: Fujita Seamless YFC
Seatpost: Hupelrider or "Crep Rider"

Now that was fast! Love it! Thank you.

Was the seat plastic or padded? See below. I have a few of these.

The catalog page mentions leather so I assume your second example would be approrpiate.

Bloud, check out this parts list I have on my blog, it dates to around '74. It will match up the parts to the frame. Later Finest's had the stem that Keith pictured, earlier models had this one:

You can see it on the parts list as #1002

I just posted this also:
