I picked up this Sears Spyder for $50 at a yard sale from the original owner, his wife said he would clean & polish it once a month since it was new and kept it in the house. I sold it to a collector for $150 when I realized I really had no where to keep it that it wouldn't get scratched up.

My Spyder was maroon - I rode that thing all over Coralville IA. When we moved to TX, it was sold to eliminate goods we had to move.
Why did the owner of the purple one sell a prized childhood possession. |

whoa! real close! the flower pattern was more like the hippie-type (hippies, forgive me) and the one i looked at was single speed, coaster brake, same frame (except girls)- and blue. still, i was a-wishing i had a little girl to teach to ride it. where'd the colored spokes come from? nice, fun, touch. |

I don't have found memories of the Spyder. I crashed one when I was young and broke my wrist. But they sure looked cool even if the road bad with those daft handle bars.

I haven't seen spoke covers on a bike in years I know they where common in the 70's. Does any one know where I could get some now I think I some for my current build.
