That was the exact bike I bought back in '86, and then put up after very few miles (and getting married). It then became the bike that got me back into cycling in 2003.

Funny, I took it in to a LBS to get tuned up and didn't recognize what I was seeing (STI and funny tubes), and the mechanics barely recognized what I had brought in to them.

You start swapping in modernity, and whoa nelly it's good.
A drop of 2 lbs is routine, 3 lbs quite doable.
Lotta 80's bikes can get there.
Only one is an Ironman, though.
