I can understand that but also weigh it with the fact that my dad got 15-16 yrs of use out of those cranks with nary a problem.

Resurrecting the dead here I know, but do you guys happen to know the torque spec's Sampson recommends? Thanks!

Per the email I received from Eric Sampson they required 250 inch/pounds for torque. More than that and they could fracture like mine.
