8 speed/9 speed

Hey guys,

Probably a really stupid question, but can I put an 8 speed cassette on a 9 speed freewheel?

I hope I make sense.

No, 9-speed FREEWHEELS do not exist!. If you mean a 8-sp cassette onto a 9-speed freehub then yes, the hub body that the cassette fits onto is identical for 8&9 speed.

Yes for Shimano, no for Campagnolo.

Because some people insist on pushing the limits of what is physically possible, thereby creating a market for idiotic products.
