yep, etch it in stone....they're different.....
For those who want to know about Champion #5...seriously, if they were 56cm, I'd have at least one.
I don't know if I'd make a touring frame or a single speed, or both, but they'd be cool.

All I know is that I love mine!
....and I've got you to thank....I probably would have never been hot for those bikes if it weren't for your recommendation!

BTW: what does "When the world slips you a Jeffrey, stroke the furry wall." mean?I've got a furry, but she's hardly a wall:

It's a quote from Get Him to the Greek. There were some rather potent drugs called Jeffreys being passed around and when people started to loose their grip they'd be told to stroke a furry wall in the room they were in.

Well, I just pulled the trigger on one. Going to get a light rando/century treatment, with suntour barends and the like. The TT length is a bit shorter than anything else I currently ride, but you pays your money and you takes your chances. I might do a build thread on it when it gets here, get some feedback and help making choices.

I built a 54cm of the burgundy one into a SS about 3 years ago. Same gold pinstripes, Champion #5 frame, same fork, no braze-ons. Only it wasn't a Centurion, it was a Shogun Cro-Mo 400. Otherwise, identical.
I rubbed off the TT decals, kept the awesome helmeted warrior headbadge. Yellow deep-V Wienmanns flip-flops, yellow wrapped bullhorns, SSM Fusion yellow saddle, yellow housings. I drilled out the brake bridge (carefully) and the fork for recessed Tektro long-reaches (it was for 27's). I think I had about $180 in it, was offered $250 before I got it done, added a rear rack for $25 more and never saw it again. I'd love to have it back, it would bring $350 now.

My fuji is a 62cm st cc, but the tt is 59cm cc. I think the Centurions would be a bit short for my taste, but upping to Cr-Mo would make my city bike a lot lighter.
Did you guys check out Citizen Chain's Colnago for sale? Holy smoking hot furry wall, Jeffrey!

The silver was my second choice if the burgandy was not available. I am pretty full up on blue bikes, and white would not work for a stealth camp if I ever did any light touring... Of course silver might not be that good either, but it does look pretty sexy.
Oh, and did it come with the seatpost binder bolt?

i said i was pretty set on a silver frameset....they pulled down one of the framesets which looked silver up high in the display, but turned out to be ivory.
They then went to their warehouse close by down the block and they actually had full bikes still in their boxes unopened and sold me a silver frameset out of the box! they pulled off allot of the parts since all i needed was a frameset.....the point of me buying the frameset was to find a home for my ever expanding parts bin. they offered to sell me parts super cheap which was nice. really nice guys.
anywho, long story short i didn't need a seatpost, so i they took the seatpost binder bolt with it BUT im sure if you asked to include the binder bolt, they would probably throw it in for cheap or free.
they sold me the frameset with the headset and the little downtube shifter boss thing for free....and i liked the crankset so much they threw it in with the bottom bracket for an extra 30 bucks.... which i think for a NOS crazy looking black and silver double sugino crankset and bottom bracket was a good deal (IMO)
if you decide to buy a frameset and want the binder bolt just specifically ask for it, im sure they'll hook you up. (on top of any other parts you might want off it since they seem to have both framesets and full bikes and are open to parting out some of them. they definitely have some of the ivory with magenta pinstripes and logo left, also blue, and i think i saw a burgandy as well)

Ugg, no I did not ask for the bolt, did not think about it till last night. They said that they would ship today, so its probably to late. I might have a couple laying around, if not then when I make the 50 mile trip to the nearest bike shop I will try to get one.
My email address is onedollarmiyata@.... The owner sent me a message asking about it! when I told him that i have a couple miyata frames he expressed some interest in one. Maby I will try to trade the 610 frame for some parts. That would be ok with me. Sounds like great shop. The only cable holders that I have in great shape are Huret. So mine will be a spare parts build as well. I just want it to look cool enough that the guys I ride with will possibly stop giving me crap about my bikes being steel and old.
