Is this bike actually an early 1960's Frejus?

I recently purchased a pista/track frame on ebay. The seller listed the frame as a Frejus Track Frame-set early 1960's. See the photos and advertisement at: The images are located at https://www.flickr.com/photos/dow5law/6306355893/ and https://www.flickr.com/photos/dow5law/6306878746/
. The frame is beautiful. However, after looking at a few vintage Frejus track frames I have noticed that the lugs on the bike I purchased do not match up with other Frejus frames. Can anyone tell me weather this frame is an actual Frejus? And if it is not a Frejus can you tell me who the manufacture of the this frame is and what year it was manufactured?

I just recieved some pictures of the frame before it was painted and was told by the seller the frame had ben in storage at his bike club for more than 35 years. The new pictures demonstrates to me that this in an actual vintage Frejus. Can you help me date this model? Neither of those listings are still available to view. Once you get pictures cross post it in the Classic and Vintage section. They will probably better know.

Moving this to 'Classic & Vintage' where you'll most likely have better luck.

I've never seen a Frejus that used those lugs. Need more detailed pictures I would think.

Not a Frejus from the sixties. Seat cluster is all wrong, they didn't use that fork crown & the lugs are not even close. The decal job is imaginative but bears no resemblance to anything I've seen that came from Frejus.

Here's the eBay listing:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-FREJUS-T...item4ab02d9629
"Item are located in Poland" or, "Omskirk, United Kingdom" "New" or "dates from early 1960's" Oy!

Not a Frejus.

The paint is so thick it is hard to see the lugwork. Nice fork crown, I guess.

The negative space in the headset lug work is reminiscent of the Colnago logo.

After looking at it cross-eyed, I see what you mean. It's purely a coincidence, of course. It's a not uncommon lug type - Nervex Super Legere or a close copy.

I'd be surprised if it started life as a track frame. I think somebody added the track ends to a lower end road frame. The fork looks like a decent piece, but the rest is not too impressive. Think for the price paid I would send that one right back and file a Paypal claim.

I like the fork kite decal - placed on the TT - of the "original" version.

Edit: now I see there's one on the HT as well.

Take a look at this site: https://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/main.php
Do a search on Frejus. There are many, many pages of Frejus photos, of bikes from the thirties on up. I haven't checked recently, but when I was doing up my 1956 a few years ago, I pored over those pictures. I can say with confidence that despite the presence of Frejus decals on the bike before its current paint job, it is not likely to be a Frejus. The lugs are wrong, the seatstay cluster is wrong, and the decal placement in the photos you just posted is unlike any unrestored Frejus I've ever seen.

If you can find photos of another Frejus with those lugs & seat stay cluster, it would help. As it is, I've never seen one.

Frejus stamped their serial number on the left side top of the seat tube until the 1960s, then switched to stamping the bottom bracket. Unlike Cinelli, Frejus serial numbers are in sequence, so it is possible to get a pretty good idea of their age. Here's a compilation of serial numbers, with some helpful notes: https://classicrendezvous.com/Italy/F...al_numbers.htm

I know you really want it to be a Frejus. It just doesn't look at all like one.
