I'm thinking about snatching this bike up. I need a new bike. Is this Peugeot worth anything, or is it a lower end model?

I can do any and all work myself and get parts for free/cheap. I want a bike that I can turn into a rocket, and I really don't know enough to know which way to go. Any input would be greatly appreciated. My '68 Schwinn sierra is just too heavy.

My 82 aluminum schwinn was smashed by the police in a trash compactor a few days ago :(

That bicycle is very similar to a Canadian made Peugeot Super Sport.

The Super Sport, like the Course presented, is made from Carbolite 103 tubing and will weigh in at about 24-25 pounds. Quality wise, lower mid level, at best, but you will find the ride to be pretty good, if it is anything like the bikes Canadian cousin.

However, and I am not sure about this, the bicycle might be French threaded, which will cause parts replacement issues. Not insurmountable, but a pain, none the less.

Vintage Bicycle Value - that could be anyone's guess, but for my money, $100 to $150 is not out of line.

I thought the 'Course record dumonde' was the model type, but it looks like it's not. If I get the serial number, can I find out exactly what type of bike it is and how much it is worth? Anything else that I can ask for that will give us more clear information about its worth?

I was part of an occupation arrest. My bike was locked to a pole on the edge of the park. They sweeped the park, cut off my 1" u-bolt, and trashed the bike.

Schwinn didnt make any aluminum bikes in 1982 and I'm not sure they made a Sierra in '68

The Peugeot is a UO10. Its value is relative to its price.

I agree with Randy. It's a fair price for a fairly decent bike.

The rear brake cable routing is bizarre! I'd fix that first thing.

My '68 that I am riding now is steel.

Sweet at UO10, thank you. The price is listed on the craigslist ad, so I was asking if the bike (which I didn't know exactly what is was) is a good value for the price ($150). Sorry if this thread is offending you, I am new to this.
