Not gonna happen...I just bought the bike!

Kidding..Now-Exactly how bad did it piss you off for that split second you thought it was gone? If it was REALLY bad you better go ahead and act! haha!

Drillium Dude 11-04-11 10:55 PM

^ Ha, you got me; my heart actually skipped a beat there for a second :)

I'm going to wait this out a bit and see if I come back to some sense of normality. In other words, I'm going to sleep and I'll see if I feel the same way after a period of unconsciousness.

If I'm still drawn to it tomorrow, I will have to begin making some plans. Nothing is pre-ordained, but there's gotta be a reason for my being drawn to this bike. I want to find out what it is.

Oh, and worry not: I'm not $600+$90 shipping-smitten; if I go for this my top-end is going to be in the neighborhood of $250-$275. I mean, it's a basically a fancier 3-speed from what I can see.

Great handlebars, someone is making a set like that currently, I have to reference them, a potential choice for my latest project.

As to why you want it? its the fenders, you are fully into fender season, no?

Standard Issue 11-04-11 11:16 PM

My wife gets pissed at me, too, for spending money on bikes and parts. She spends tons of money on our kids not on stuff they need but on stuff she wants them to have. I tell her I'm a bike enthusiast, you're a parenting enthusiast. You buy what you want so I get to buy what I want. It doesn't usually work.

Drillium Dude 11-04-11 11:48 PM

^ Lucky me, I don't have one of those anymore. I went for low-maintenance:

As long as she has food, water and a sunny spot to sleep in, she's cool :)

^Hmmm, mine are nearly as high maintenance as my ex-wife! :D

That bike is cool. It's pretty and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Typical Italian design. Same reason I like Vespas.

+1...i am not alone:)

Chef Bigs 11-05-11 01:49 AM

I personally think it's a pretty rad looking bike. Who cares what everybody else thinks anyways. Isn't it your collection and your hobby after all?

divineAndbright 11-05-11 05:07 AM

Strange it looks like it has nice forged drop outs then you don't see a derailleur hanger which would be a deal breaker for me if I had money to unnecessarily spend and room to keep crap!

That could turn into a nice looking road bike fairly easy.

katy24 11-05-11 05:17 AM

saw this not that long ago http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1707096474...ht_1022wt_1040

same bike I guess?

rootboy 11-05-11 05:29 AM

It's orange. It's got those cool Italian city-ride handlebars. It's orange.
Think of it this way; hang on to it for when you're too old and creaky to ride your current bikes.
It's cool

D Dude,

I swear ...this cat LOOKS LIKE YOU!

;)

Capecodder 11-05-11 06:11 AM

Look at the kickstand!!!!! I'll bet it's been tightened down so much that the chainstays are crushed! Would that suck or what:roflmao2:

I would have a hard time buying a bike off ebay cause 99% of the people selling them have no clue about bikes. I would only buy a bike online if it were from this site , and from a well known member. JMO....

They're pretty cool, no? Seen them on a Legnano shown here and on the Classic Rendezvous Frejus page. There's an illustration of them in the Data Book as well, making me wonder if a private contractor made them for Italian bikes back then. Here's a pic of them on my Frejus , as found.

I think the "reproductions" don't have the brazed on brake levers, but yes, Italian Styling. And probably made by a sub and sold to a number of mfgs.

RobbieTunes 11-05-11 06:40 AM

I'm not interested in it, but if you need help rationalizing the purchase.....

just sayin.

iab 11-05-11 06:41 AM

If you want, it is pretty easy to build a Sport bike. I got an all chrome gas pipe Torpado frame and used other parts laying about. The bars are really the only unique part on that bike. Maybe the chainguard too. Both can be had on ebay.it. Total for the bike below was $250-$300.

It's beautiful, buy it.

This is about want, not need.

jr59 11-05-11 06:43 AM

Go for it. You know the N+1 story and all.

Besides I can't wait to see it when you get it done.

All drilled out, Maybe a Drillium chain guard?
Come on, you are my hero on here!

iab 11-05-11 07:31 AM

15 euro. Probably will cost 25 to ship. http://www.ebay.it/itm/Manubrio-Bian...item3cbde03fd6

The more I look at that bike, the more I like it. I can see your desire. Put some fatter tires on there and it's one classy cruiser.

lostarchitect 11-05-11 08:46 AM

I only have one cat, but sometimes I wonder if he's thinking, "WTF, everybody has a bike but me!"

catmandew52 11-05-11 09:31 AM

Maybe Buy it Now you just Buy it Now need to sit Buy it Now back and rationalize Buy it Now the purchase of Buy it Now an Italian Buy it Now made Townie.
