Richard Moon another purchase

So I was riding by the local bike/coffee shop place. The has connsignments once in a while and I saw this hanging up with a 1100.00 price tag. Didnt know a thing about Richard Moon but I loved the looks of it and I could tell it had quality. Went home, took a quick shower and called the owner of the shop and said to hold it for me-which he did. A friend of mine just saw it-actually, a little more his size than mine at 58cm. He fell in love and wanted to trade a pdm concorde-c record equipped for it. He knows Ive wanted that concorde for a while. Anyway--here it is. Wondering if anyone has much infor on Richard Moon. Came with the parts you see...some record..racing triple cranks

Joe,

Richard Moon is a fantastic builder! He didn't build very many bikes before he stopped, but each and every one is a gem. Possibly more rare - in terms of coming across on the right size, as they don't trade often - than a Confente, and better overall workmanship. It's way better and way more valuable than any Concorde. I'd personally trade any bike in my stable for it without hesitation. Richard Moon's website was actually up for quite a while after he stopped taking orders. That's a grail bike for some people - if I was the type to have grail bikes, it would be one of mine:

You did very well on the price - Joe your instincts are improving.

Very, very nice. Love the color. Some Moons are pretty over-the-top in terms 0of paint schemes - I like this one very much. Excellent score.

That is a inexpensive after-market item that really works. I have a couple of the ones pictured - the part you see is black plastic, and it is held on with a garden variety hose clamp (included) which you can't see in the photo. I think they cost $10-$12, give or take. Many, and perhaps most, bike shops have them or an equivalent.

Wow. I didnt know it was that rare or collectible. That is fantastic. I didnt even pm you on this one-like i do for most of my other bikes..because i didnt think they were particularly note worthy. For sure I will pass on the concorde trade. Thanks much.

Of course, those paint schemes are often custom choices by the buyer - but I agree. The ones I like best are the simple two-tone jobs with the lugs and crown in a contrasting white.
