I think the rider most associated with Carrera Bikes was Claudio Chiappucci or "El Diablo". The following photo is of him on his Carrera bike in the Tour de France in 1990. He is leading Gianni Bugno and Miguel Indurain. He was a very charismatic and great rider of that era.
The bikes and team was sponsored by the Carrera jeans company and the racing nicks resembled a pair of jeans. I am pretty sure the Carrera bikes were all made by another well known bike manufacturer but I can't remember which one - my memory is playing tricks lately. In my opinion the bikes had a very attractive colour scheme.
It's easy to do a search for Claudio Chiappucci which will show you more of his bike.
