I currently have two: A lovely '83 Mirage Sport, and an '81 Grand Jubilee. The GJ is my latest acquisition; it's been well-ridden and has some scuffs and scratches, and it needs a new front wheel (the previous owner replaced the original with a black-anodized number that works great, but looks like crap on the bike.) I'm also planning to buy the GJ a nice new leather saddle for Christmas, and to replace the short-reach stem that the PO put on the bike with something closer to the original.

They're both great bikes, the Mirage Sport is a really fun ride, but the Grand jubilee is so much nicer in every respect. Given my lack of storage, the Mirage Sport is unfortunately going to have to find a new home. I love old Motos! Glad you started the thread.http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=227372http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=227371http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=227373http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=227374http://www.bikeforums.net/images/misc/pencil.png

My dad's old Mirage still needs to be worked on. It fits me, and rightly so because my dad is the source of my genes... (if that makes any sense)

I'm trying to find a Nervar Star crankset to replace the slightly bent NDS crank on my Mirage, but not having much luck. If anyone has one they're wiling to part with, let me know!

I'll play, '78 Super Mirage.
A real sweet riding bike for what it was, one that I would have kept.

I especially miss the Grand Record...

noglider 11-18-11 08:54 PM

Mine are long gone. I had a Le Champion with all Campy Nuovo Record. It was a metallic pink, which I had painted to gun metal gray.

I also had a commuter bike I built up from the frameset of an old Mirage. It rode nicely but was butt ugly, which was a feature, not a bug. The handling was a bit odd. It liked it when I loaded it down with baggage.
