700c 126mm rear wheel - apparently rare

I know what it is, but I can't seem to find one that costs less than my bike! Actually thought I had a great deal on a Centurion Facet (their only AL road bike ever), only to discover it had a rear tubular Roval aero wheel that is frankly not practical for me. (never buy a bike in dark) I've only got freewheel tools so no free hubs if possible. You'd think these things are piled up high in every LBS, but none of the stores I know keep "obsolete" parts. The Facets were OEMed with cool Wolber Alpine (blk) and Suntour hubs - not that aesthetics is crucial. Ain't got (too much) money, but I've got time, any offers appreciated. You can have the more exotic Roval, albeit the brake surface is worn IMO.

Still can't PM, but can reply via email. Thanks.

If you cant find a 700c freewheel clincher wheel your not looking hard enough.

Are you not liking the tubular rim?

Tons and tons out there, generally $50-$100.
Put a WTB on your local CL, they'll come looking for you.

I'm working on one now that's 135mm with a 7 speed. I'm only going to use 5 so I can take several spacers off of each side and use a shorter axle. Maybe that strategy would work for you?
BTW, cassette tools are pretty cheap and not hard to learn to use.

Velo Orange Crand Cru hub with PBP rim, $125. A set of these is going on my Paramount. They're shiny.

Thanks for all the pointers!

The current setup is shot, big bumps on the brake rim, rotting sew-up. I can't even take the Centurion out to see if I can live with an aluminum frame. To put it in context, the Facet was Kinda cheap, so even a $50 replacement would be a capital investment. I've learned my lesson with investing too early, only to find I wasn't happy with the essential rig, so trying to keep it cheap for now - not that there's a SRAM Red upgrade in the future or anything (LOL). As for sewups, I'm just the "patch and pump" type, I guess. I also don't get it with this early model Roval aero-rim+hub, I can't imagine it's lighter with all that extra alloy!

Almost everything with a 6speed freewheel I've ever seen
was in the 125-126mm range for OLD. They come in all the
time at the bike coop here for five bucks (usually require a
true and dish). Look for a coop shop near you.

Like the others said, they are literally everywhere.
