How do you wrap two-tone bar tape?

I bought this bar tape off Ebay, the seller seems to shift quite a lot of it and it gets good reviews but I can't work out how to wrap it

I've tried my usual technique of starting at the bottom of the bar and wrapping outwards. No matter how careful I am, as soon as I start wrapping around the curve, it looks an uneven mess.

Anyone have any ideas or photo's of good two-tone wrapped tape?
