Help with a Falcon bike needed please.
 

I have been given a Falcon bicycle which I would like to find out more about. This is an odd one seems like it as Falcon mainly made light weight racing bikes. This is a standard ladies bike, but it has alloy handlebars, alloy mudguards, alloy chain guard and alloy rear carrier. The bike is has a three speed Sturmey Archer rear hub stamped 1970. I am told that Falcon did not make this type of bicycle at that time. It does appear to be all original although in need of restoration. I have even contacted Falcon about this, but their records don`t go back that far. Can anyone shed anymore light on this please ?

You need to post a few photo's which will help a lot with an ID.

Falcon built all sorts of bike from low end to high end. Ernie Clements was the company manager for a number of years and involved in their frame design. I'm pretty sure I've seen Falcon ladies bikes with sturmey hubs before.

I have run across on step through Falcon over the years, a Black Diamond model. To that add that I have never run across a Falcon with a three speed hub, but that really means little.

Other than that, I can offer little help except to add to what one other member suggested - include good clear pictures when seeking advice in these forums. A picture is much easier to work with...

The Sturmey-Archer 3 speed hub, in conjunction with the upright bars, fenders and chain guard would make this an early 1970s Falcon Super Tourist. The lady's frame would make it the Model 83 (the men's frame was Model 82). There was also a Super Tourist Deluxe version with 5 speeds.
