Hmmmmm. :innocent: something is off. I spy a long cage RD in this non drive side photo. ;)
http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...7&d=1460226499 And are those Prugnant lugs? :D Beautiful bike, BTW, 68Paramount! I should add that I'm all for lowering the gearing on Paramounts. My '71 P13 has a triple. At one point I ran a 16-20-25-30-34-38 freewheel when I entered a mountain climbing race. At the moment it has a more reasonable 13-28 freewheel. I see the wheels are clinchers. Original spec, IIRC, would have been tubulars, but I could be wrong on this point. Metacortex and Scooper will know with certainty! :thumb: http://www.bikeforums.net/attachment...6&d=1460226492 Are your barend shifters marked "Schwinn Approved" or are they Campagnolo branded? Can you tell us more about how you acquired your Paramount? Radiant Blue is a great color! P.S. Welcome to C&V and Bike Forums. |
Pastor Bob,
Your keenly calibrated eye is right on the money. She currently has a Campagnolo Rally long cage and freewheel to match. And yes, those are Schwinn Approved "indexed" shifters. I do have the original Campagnolo Record rear derailleur and Regina Gran Sport Corse freewheel along with the original Campagnolo friction shifters. My intention is to put her back to original specs. The hoops are Weinmann and I think they are original. Take a peek at the image that Scooper posted of the '69 P13 spec sheet. |
I like it the way it is set up! :D My '71 runs Schwinn Approved barends and currently has a 2nd generation Rally RD. Over the summer I took it back to tubular wheels. They however are Hi-E hubs and Faimme rims. I did notice that Scooper's spec sheets appear to show clincher rims with Schrader valves, so this could well be correct. BTW, bikes of your vintage run freewheels, not cassettes. They are very different from each other.
