Brake Cable liner

I know this isn't specifically a C&V related question, but I thought I'd post it here anyway. :)

Some time ago I got some thin tubing to line my exposed brake cable along my top tube and other tubing to line my shift cables along the bottom bracket. (Not cable housing).

I have no idea where I got this tubing...has anyone found a good supply of stuff like this?

Thanks!

Lee

Yes, I know exactly what you are talking about. Just go to the LBS. They use it on MTB's.

Aquarium tubing, I think.

Just use the inner teflon/nylon tubing (usually black or grey in color) that comes in lined brake cable housing. Your local LBS might throw some out when they do brake servicing on bikes. The outside of the casings might be beat up, but you should be able to get some good legnths of the liner from them as they should be OK being protected by the steel outer casing material. They just pull/slip out easily.

Something like this. http://www.niagaracycle.com/product_...ucts_id=413114

It's not aquirium tubing or housing liner. It is a somewhat stiff, usually white, tubing used to route MTB cables. I get it at the LBS from the mechanics and use it whenever I build a bike.
