I thought the same: "With such a plane (I took it as a Learjet at first sight), he surely can afford a better bike than that!"

Learjets all had T-tails. That one, with a "cruciform" tail with the horizontals halfway up, I took for a Lockheed Jetstar until I looked closer. (First "business jet", very expensive, only for the largest corps or well-heeled; Sinatra, Elvis, Nixon, the Shah had Jetstars.)

I grabbed this same photo when I saw it but don't recall posting it and now I don't have to.

Judging by the Bike, Mr. Armstrong was HUGE!
How did such a big guy fit in that small capsule?

Did some googling. He was 5' 11". That was the upper limit for the Mercury spacecraft, but he wasn't part of that program. The NASA requirement for height is between 5' 2" and 6' 3"

Thanks, Looking at the head set of the Bike he's on says otherwise, but I've been wrong before.
