Yeah, I tried to find it streaming on Roku(for free). No luck though. If I can find it used at the bookstore, I'll get it.

It's a GREAT move, and your post reminded me of it so I found the DVD on Amazon for less than $10.

I was watching Tyrone Power ride a bike in The Razor's Edge. (A favorite novel.) While looking for an online photo, I remembered Bill Murray starred in the remake. I haven't seen that version yet. I want to. Is this what Larry Darrell looks like when he's old(er)?

Take a moment to scope out the bike Voodoo (Laurence Fishburne) is riding. This is in 1986 (movie release date--filming could have been much earlier), mind you. Looks like 26" wheels with drop bars and aero levers, roller cam brakes and a road double. Be neat to find out more about it. Google says many Raleighs of the period were used and the head tube of Voodoo's bike sure looks like it but it would have been wildly modified to appear as it does.

Sam was great. I went to one of his shows in Seattle, about 1990ish. He partied a little to hard, which likely led to his death at a young age.

Anyone else watching HBO's entertaining series, Winning Time: the Rise of the Lakers Dynasty? Magic Johnson's first Lakers coach, Jack McKinney (played by Tracy Letts), loses the rear brake cable on his mid-level Schwinn and subsequently flies over the bars. I wonder if that's how he actually went down on his bike. It apparently brought an end to his tenure with the Lakers after getting them on the road to greatness.

That scene is at 2:23 in this clip:

Terrible news, but I can't find any reports that he was on a bike.
