Campagnolo: Please help to identify this..
I have to finish to put this Campagnolo groupset on a Rossin Record and I wanted to know from those in the know if you can give a name to these parts. From a quick research done online it seems to me a mixture Chorus / Athena / CDA / Stratos, but maybe I'm wrong. Thank you!

Not sure about the crank. The RR deraileur looks to be c-record or maybe Athena 7 or 8-speed. The brakes are Athena monoplaners, as are the levers are Athena too. Brakes and levers are circa: '92. The black brake pads are one piece and are not cartridge with the white O-ring adjuster and that tells me they are Athena.
Oh yeah, the cable adjusters are upside down. The white O-ring and attached cup thread onto the adjuster above the brake arm, not below it Got some nice parts there. I have them on my Tommasini. http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2314/2...3f6_z.jpg?zz=1 |
All is Athena.

the cranks look like the original Chorus you can tell by the raised ring area around the crankbolt. did this crank fall to Athena at one time?
I agree the RD looks like Athena 7/8spd. the brakes are likely the later Chrous as they still have two nuts (cap and adjusting) on the mounting bolt, but the rounded (cheaper) on piece brake pads (but these could be replacements) Wino Ryder; I suspect the adjusters are just set up like that for shipping/storage |
I think I had the answer from an italian guy:
Headset: Super Record Crankset: Chorus Derailleur: Mirage Gear levels: Triomphe (or Victory that are identical, can't see in the bag) Brakes: Chorus monoplanar the first type, Back deraileur: Athena The first type Brake levers: do not understand why they are externally identical in 2 groups, the Chorus have the body cast aluminum while Athena has polymer. Stem: Cinelli Panto "Rossin" |
