Grady: Thanks! And I got a kick out of the seatpost/Brooks stories - and what a fortunate accident! champion city certainly surprised me with the PM about the post, and he made a generous offer so that I could add this beautiful gem to the build. Post is so thin I'd be afraid to clamp it in if I didn't know about Ti's properties.
photogravity: Really? That's actually kinda strange that someone in a shop in VA might have something I put on Ebay! I should look back through my feedback and check locations; I do know that an overwhelming majority of the stuff I put on Ebay went out of the country. Thanks for the "positive feedback"!
Alex: You think so? Thank you - I think it was right to go with the slot vice the 5 holes I'd originally planned. It works better with the theme I'm developing, as well as with the fairly low-key approach to the brushed finish on the bodies and polish only on the levers. That said, I think the brifters will be the eye-drawer on this build
thirdgenbird: You and me (and a few others here as well) both! The last little bits are coming together...now where's that Chorus or Record front derailleur?
Thanks to everyone for your continued support - I promise I should be done with this in a couple of weeks tops if I locate a front derailleur soon.

Wow, those ergos are stunning. Polishing the lever bodies makes them stand out so nicely, and the slot is just the right thing for the lever blade. Glad you like the post, it was just collecting dust here! Really looking forward to the completed build.

I love those ti Campy posts and have been looking for a good deal on one since I got my AX. I settled for a Moots Cinch post instead....

Could only work on this for 15 minutes at a time as I was losing feeling in my fingertips. Can't wear gloves or I lose my "feel", so this was taken in stages. A little more finish filing, sanding, polish and paint left. Oh, and I'm needing a clean upper-limit screw; this one's head was scraped in a fall and the cross-tip slot is to all intents and purposes wiped away...
Some more eye-candy in-work:
Backside:
I'd finish polishing tonight, but I suffered a small cut right on the ball of my R thumb while drilling my last hole! It's small, but really cramping my style - I'll pull out the buffing wheel tomorrow afternoon and have this all back together (save the limit screw) and painted by the end of the weekend. I hope I have my frame back with its new BB by then, too.
That's all, folks!

This all looks great, but do you own a snowblower?
The news here reported a snowstorm of a "generation" headed your way.
Accurate info?
If so, head to the adult beverage store while you still can, and also pick up several pounds of T-bones for you and Sacha.

I did hear the reports of how bad it would be - in fact, I was surprised it made the national news; I headed right for the commissary to stock up the pantry after I saw the reference on Yahoo's news page
It's virtually impossible to keep the runways on the NAS clear at all times - and for an emergency landing, of course, they've got to be while the mission's in the air - so the base closes in inclement weather such as this. Stuff the car, too - I'll take me some walks!
And drill holes in things...

....while over on the mainland, in Seattle, an old pal just told me he's got 7 inches of ice pellets which melted then froze into a hard shell crust. Not fit fer man nor beast.

Not for nothing, but I think you'll be saying the same thing when your Ergos come back to you...
Thanks again for providing this bad boy. I think it's right about the same vintage as the levers and cleaned up very easily. Although there may be some here that will cry foul when they see it sporting Suntour sealed bearing jockey wheels...

Thanks in advance for getting those back in usable condition. Much appreciated.
We have probably picked up close to two feet of this crap since Saturday. It's still snowing here... sigh

No problem, Roger - it's the least I can do for a free derailleur
Rootboy: You mean like "Steve Austin - a man barely alive..." That kinda half-machine?
When I really get into high-gear with the Dremel, no kidding, my hand still feels the vibration for a half-hour after I'm done!

Okay, now - don't shoot the messenger, but this is the final result of the "lost in the mail but found and delivered" modern Campy commission. The owner sent me this teaser shot this morning; he's having studio shots done of this and the front derailleur, too, so those should be interesting.
I'm sure the added bling will not be to everyone's taste, but you have to admit it makes you want to look Yeah, and so do car accidents...I get that...personally, I think it comes together a little over-the-top and for the bike it's going on, this is in keeping with that theme:
This, the front derailleur and left-side downtube gear lever will be going on the Baylis (the predominantly red/blue one pictured earlier in this thread).
Myself, I'm hoping to finish up my derailleur by the end of the weekend IF I can stand to polish with this stupid cut on my thumb pad...it's exactly where I don't need it, if you get my drift. I'm off to retrieve my frame from the LBS as the BB installation is completed.
Enjoy (or hate)! As I've said before, nothing polarizes like...

^ I get you...thanks!
Just got back with the frame from my LBS; BB is in and not 5 minutes after arriving home the Chorus front derailleur auction I was keeping tabs on closed out with me winning it at $20.50 - so the final part is now acquired (well, awaiting word from a BF member regarding the cable set, but as far as I'm concerned that's a done deal, too). A little understated drilling on that and everything can go together once the last parts that are already coming in the mail arrive.
Gonna have to steal some tires off one of my other rides, though....
Thumb feels a bit better, so I might just finish my Chorus RD today. If so, look for pics this evening. Oh, and I've scheduled the Ergo setup at the LBS since I've never done a brifter/clicky-shifting installation before and the shop owner is going to do it on a Saturday so that I can learn it for myself. Cool...
Off to stick the post/saddle in the frame and clean up the bar/stem combo.
