Silca Impero pump repair

If anyone has a cracked Silca Impero pump I'll fix it for free. All you have to is cover shipping to and from 33617.

Your pump will be shorter than it was because the cracked section needs to cut off but it will be fixed.

this is a great offer you're making, Jim...but I assume you only want to fix pumps where the cracked section is the top, threaded portion, right?

Hey Jim, I've browsed these forums a bit before and googling around for how to fix my cracked Impero brought me here to finally register and revive this old post! (Hope that's not against the rules...)

So I've got a single thin crack on the end of my Impero which starts at one corner of the hex hardware that the threading is part of, and it extends about a centimeter through the top part of the pump, then about another centimeter down the main shaft of the thing (through 2 different plastic "sections").

Is this something that you can repair and is your sweet, sweet offer still on the table?? I'd really like to get this pump back up and functioning since it was my father's, but it looks like I'm going to have to replace the original Silca plastic pump head as well (it creates a functional seal, but both of the "feet" have broken off, so it barely clings under my top tube, and I just know it's going to go flying at the first bump)... and I'm having a hell of a time finding one of the metal Campagnolo pump heads to replace it with for less than the cost of just buying a new ugly Zefal pump. (Any ideas on where to find those campy pump heads, provided the plastic on my pump can be repaired?)

The rubber gasket could probably use replacing too... quite a list for a pump! But I'm willing to go to lengths to get this thing back up and running.

I can post photos of the crack if that will help

applesauc3 - Welcome to the C&V forums! I have a couple of Silca pumps including a floor pump and hope they will always be supported with parts! If you put an @ sign in front of a members name, they will get a notice and be linked to message just like you were from my use of the function. Yes pictures would help. Post them to a photo application like Flickr and then copy paste them into your message.

Derek, yes, the offers still on the table. Please post pics...if the crack is on the handle end of the main body I can fix it, if it's on the head end I can not.

@SJX426 Thanks for the tip!

miamijim - Ah, well that doesn't sound super promising for what I have going on here, but here are the photos anyway in case anybody has any advice (up to and including "hold onto the Silca for nostalgia, but go out and get a Zefal and have it painted white").

The photos I took are too large to insert into this post, but the album is available here (imgur link).

Direct link to photo of handle end connection (I don't think there's anything awry here) - #3
