Mavic Rear Derailleur 801/851 appeal

Does anyone have a Mavic 801 or 851 rear derailleur, preferably with it's mounting plate, in the USA, that they would be willing to lend to rootboy in order for him to attempt to copy the mounting plate?

Many here will have seen the fantastic thread posted by rootboy entitled ~ Campy Nuovo Record on the Simplex dropout * Execution and IMHO, those who haven't are missing a real treat.

In that thread, among the praise, someone mentioned that a lot of people would be interested if rootboy could make a mounting plate for a Mavic 801/851 RD, the part that goes between the RD and the drop-out and stops the derailleur from rotating too far. Many people, myself included, have one of these derailleurs but not the mounting plate, effectively rendering the RD useless. The part being loose, it tends to go missing. So I chimed in with a 'me too!'

I've corresponded with rootboy off-line about the possibility of him attempting to make the part and he has very kindly offered to try. I have provided him with various measurements but we have both come to the conclusion that, ideally, he would have the part to simply copy, or at the least to have an RD to try out what he manages to come up with on. I have offered to send him my 801 for this but I am in Japan and it would be much easier and quicker if someone in the US could send theirs, particularly if they have the derailleur AND the plate that they could lend him. I would be more than happy to pay for the shipping both ways - this would be by PayPal.

This is my derailleur from the back with the mounting plate missing:

And a photo I found WITH the missing mounting plate:

As they say here... Yoroshiku!

I forgot to ask, apart from me and yuyaz, is there anyone else out there who would like to obtain this mounting plate?

I would like a couple.

PM sent

You may not, Ecrevisse when you find out what I'm going to have to charge for these things if I ever succeed in making them. ;)

Sure would be nice to have one to work from.
