A Little Campy Help Please
 

I admit, I am not a guy that can look at a photo and tell what group a Campy component is from, so, I need some help. These photos are not great, but any idea what group these parts are from?

Looks like Chorus from here.

I'm putting my chips on Athena.

Brakes look like true Monoplanar (where the one arm passes thru the other). Those are cool and likely Chorus.

The brakes are monoplanar. The crank and derailleurs look like Chorus.

He wants five bills for the bike and I'm really thinking about jumping on it. I just bought a Kona Dr. Good and an old Dahon folder this week, so, that's the only reason I'm hesitating.

That's a deal if it's as nice as it seems. Rims look new. Borrow the dough and act.

The crank arms might be Croce d'Aune. Nice finish on the back of the non-drive-side one (what little we can see, anyways), plus the one-key release makes me think maybe Croce. The brake calipers look like Chorus Monoplanar, and I'm not real good on the rear ders. from that time period, but I'd guess Chorus there too....

Did you buy it? Looks pretty darn clean (what we can see, anyways).

I have to agree I think it is Chorus just after it got the CdA crank or it could be Athena just after the Monoplanors were passed down to that group.

the Cranks and RD are certainly not the first gen and I am not sure just when the brakes switched to the rounded style pads and black 'O' ring

Looks like CDA or Chorus to me...

but I was actually just wondering tonight, is CdA actually a group or was it just a mix of Record and Chorus components? I have a set of monoplanar brakes I think are 88 Chorus and was trying to verify so I was looking at catalogs.

CdA was a group although it shared a few bits with Record and Chorus and Athena. the cranks were different from the original Chours but very much like this one. the Delta style brakes were different from the Record. while the hubs at frist glance appeared similar they were not countersunk (IIRC) and certainly did not have the fancy dust caps. the RD was very unique as it had that weird shaft on it.

I believe ecord and CdA shared brake levers and most all the groups shared the same shifters
