Peter Mooney's booth at the Philly Bike Expo blew me away... the lug work, other little details, and most of all the paint. If that's the pearlescent bike I'm thinking of, pictures can't do it justice. When I have $6000+ to spend on a true custom, that's where I'm going. He also has some (relatively) good deals on display bikes, if you happen to find one that fits you just right.

I saw Peter's work at the Philly show too. His work is exquisitely done! VERY nice work, indeed!

I know but it is a former team bike and Rabobank have always raced with Shimano. Same thing goes with Mapei and Casino, they all raced C40s but had them decked out with Dura Ace.

Besides you have another beautiful Colnago decked out in Campy. It might be missing a skewer... but still beautiful.
Hopefully that will be there soon though.

An excellent choice in my mind.

Such a fine looking and riding Colnago you have there Jet.

The only reason I won't have a C40 is the fact that I lucked/backed into an Extreme Power.

One CF per owner is totally permissible to my way of thinking.

Besides, my wife races a CF Felt B2. She loves it.

That was all the excuse I needed.

I am waiting patiently to see yours.

...and to eventually order one up for myself.

After riding one, I have had a major want issue ever since.

Pretty easy on the eyes as well.

I try to like the "modern" bikes....but I just can't get over their weird (to me) aesthetics.
Last "modern" bike that caught my eye wasn't even a road bike. It was a fully suspended ATB from Cannondale with the single arm "Lefty" front suspension. Otherwise the tail dragger, compact frame 10-12 speed, briftered, monocoque, CF bikes just never looked good enough for me to "lust" after. I also did not like the way components like cranksets turned into big lumps of CF and aluminum.........

From RFC in post #1 of this thread.

"For those who have no interest in modern bikes, thank you, you(r) comment is noted and need not be repeated to unnecessarily take up server space."

Now, back to our regularly scheduled gawk fest.

Indeed. It doesn’t seem to belong here, but it is a fascinating and welcome distraction. The future is here and I'm likin' it!

Any modern frame would be built by my own hands but would like to build a frame set and bike to match the Surly Pugsley so I could rock some 4 inch tyres.

Could never build a road frame better than my Cooper and my touring bike is everything I want save for one set of bottle braze ons which I will add.

He is still building. He took a break where he was doing mosly repairs on bikes and things like that while working at the shop, but has been building moreso again now. I work seasonally at his shop and have always been tempted to have him build me something. I might even sell my CF for it.
