What "modern" bike do you lust after?

Just to perpetuate some of the old/new tension that helps drive this forum, what modern bike do you lust after?

For those who have no interest in modern bikes, thank you, you comment is noted and need not be repeated to unnecessarily take up server space.

For me, it's:

1) the Salsa Vaya Ti (sort of Fargo lite);

2) One of the more extreme Cervelos.

How about you?

i like the frame designs that have the toptube curved into the seatstay. looks similar to an old cruiseer to me. strong and efficient.

Something like this. It's almost a bit too fancy, but they are a good looking modern bike.

I was able to test ride a Specialized S-Works with electronic shifting. It was just two little buttons on the outside of each brake lever. Seemed much smaller than regular shifting Shimano brifters. One touch and bam, different gear. Anyway, thats the modern bike I lust after. A bike identical to the one I rode, other than size, was for sale for $9,995 +tax. A bit on the high side.

I like practical and functional and I'm actually a big fan of the Vaya ti as well.

But we're talking about lust....that would have to be:

Lugged carbon Colnago C59 or a Serotta Meivici

(now there is a Black Lightning to get excited about!)

The Vaya ti looks great.

But so does the Fargo ti.

This has been driving me crazy as well.

A Serotta ti Max 29er

and so has this Firefly titanium cross.

I'm going to build something this late spring, but I can't decide as there are so many choices.

The scary part is I can get a ti Salsa frameset quickly, as QPB is 10 minutes from here, and my favorite lbs has a great relationship with them.

My buddy Tommy sold his Extreme Power to me so he could order a C59.

The frame is at the shop waiting for his return from China.

Can't wait to see that build.

I've visited the frame twice and taken pics to send him while he's waiting.

An incredibly massive BB shell on the C59.

Holland Ti. I was surprised to learn they are made about 30 miles from my home.

Though I prefer just the straight-Ti bikes, not the carbon-Ti hybrids.

So do I, but I've resigned myself to "it isn't going to happen" with the seven year wait.

The 7 year wait isn't what's stopping me, it's the price tag!

There is always another fine Portland bike, map:

Those are impressive. I've got to say though, their website is in dire need of a makeover.

I want a bike styled after the British racing bikes of the 30's. It's going to have a fake headclip type stem welded to a steel handlebar. It's also going to get a gooseneck type seat pillar and something interesting for shifting (may be electronic on a jockey stick). I want to use 1-1/8 Italian standard (integrated) head tube, Columbus round standard size tubing and Paragon track drops (or may be make some)

The angles will be slack but trail will be adjusted to speed things up a bit. Seat angle will be really slack but the steel fillet brazed and ball-ended gooseneck pillar will take care of that. I am going to use 650B wheels, tubs if I can find them. Carbon tubs. I want the frame to look old and the angles are weird so I am making the lugs and filed over the sharp corners to make them look like castings. I am going to brush paint it powder blue with antique white lugs. This is all I have so far. (lots of raw metal not shown)
