Jeunet Frame-Fit Pump Help

So I inherited a Jeunet roadbike (I think it is a 630, but not sure) from my dad a couple years back and I am looking to fix it up. The frame pump pegs are still intact on the top tube, but the pump is missing. So I've got two questions:

1) How does I tell what year and make this Jeunet is?

2) What was the common type of frame pump that was outfitted on the Jeunet, so I can attempt to pick up another one on ebay or somewhere?

Thanks in advance everyone.

best way to estimate the age of the bike is to get the date stamps off the components, if they're original. i'm interested as well in finding a frame pump for my jeunet 630, which i believe to be a 1972 based on the component date stamps. you can see pics of it in my signature link and compare with yours. post pics of it if you can!

Nice pics. Mine looks extremely similar to your, except my frame is a bit worse off. I will definitely post pics as soon as I can.

Which components did you use to date your bike? Bottom bracket? How did you know yours was a 630?

I think it probably had a Zefal Solibloc pump or one that looked very much like a Zefal. There is at least one listing on ebay

By the way, just found Reynolds 531 decals on ebay.com that perfectly match the faded ones in your pics. They are going for about $14 (including shipping).

After a bit of research, I have come to the conclusion that the frame-fit pump is a Dural Ringed Pump with (with express connector). My bike best matches the one posted here:

https://www.classicrendezvous.com/Fra...Jeunet_630.htm

And the information posted there can be confirmed by pictures taken from an original manual, posted here (with I believe belong to FB member Charles Wahl):

Thanks for all the help.

i got identical replacement decals off of ebay, from the ebay store "cyclomondo", for $10/set + $3 or $4 shipping. he's based in australia. they're repros, not original, but they're so perfect you can't tell the difference.

for dating the bike, i checked the date stamps on the front and rear derailleurs. both dated to 1972, which is consistent with the style of reynolds decals currently on the bike.

so finally answered this question about the pump. The Jeunet 630 most likely took at Bluemels or Tornade pump with French flag coloured grip bands. It also had an AFA express connector screwed in to one side of the pump to allow it to be mounted into the "pitch-fork" pump drop-out that was brazed on to the underside of the top tube. Here's a pick of the pump finally mounted on the bike (though the pump is a little banged up).

Justin, that pump head works perfectly with that weird Jeunet pump peg! Where did you get the AFA head? Did you sell the pump with the frame?

Right. It took me quite a while to figure out that it was made for the AFA Express pump head. I bought the pump NOS and traded for the head. I tried to buy one from PB Bike on eBay, but I offended him with my offer. He truly believes the value of that card of his is $1,000. He was pretty nasty in his response when I offered to buy one for $25.

Yes he does, yet he gets the occasional buyer who doesn't care that he's overpaying because it's that special part he's been looking for, and that justifies the seller keeping his prices high... it's the buyers who actually PAY those absurd prices who are the problem. They define the market value, not the sellers.

overpriced. obviously a matter of opinion, If I have something thats new and been out of production for 40+ years!? it doesnt or hasnt come to me cheap and isnt going out cheap. This isnt a bike closet of stuff i got at closeout, if I'm going to breakup my collection of wallcards - do you suppose to sell them to someone else to piece out, not to mention those afa heads that I also use havent even paid for the lot. Nah through ebay I have to sell them for enough to make it worth selling at all, and I dont mean just money anyone whos sold on ebay knows it can be a beast. I dont get rich on pumpheads - i should just not even offer them .

I didn't create the market, I'm part of it but no more than the whole international cycling community needing 10 bikes each and bidding gear skyhigh. again me included.

These are luxury goods we'll all live without them and frankly I've made as many friends as critics doing this.

At the end of the day , the prices keep rising. And i urge any of you with the 10-4 on the high prices to produce this gear in quantity if at all. Most of my gear isnt even priced that high considering inflation alone, how about availability?

and southpawboston, frankly theres no occasional buyer, its real obvious from the completed ebay listings alone (the last 2 months ive taken off) but over 200 every month on ebay, customers that contact through my website , and clients who look for specific gear that this is the norm. Some people like a store where they might pay more but they get what they want, not one item up for apocalyptic bidding where one person wins and everyone else bums. and you stole the card picture of my afa pump heads ( I saw it in your flickr page with bikes you sell/sold and probably make profit on.)dont really care about intellectual property but thanks for asking?!

There have been enough of those "occasional" buyers for me to need a 2 month break.

Sorry just cant quit, over the years Ive gotten flack from lots of people , to later on see them selling bikes and gear for prices I find offensive, on forums for ebay prices , many acting like their not dealers - to sell off a bike at a profit 3 moths later pretty consistently. not paying any fees or advertising but scoffing at my prices. I hope you guys are putting the energy into utility monopolies, ******** levels of political criminals and bankers.

This little nos bike biz is run by real people reusing everything in the universe and selling you ****e found in old warehouses imported into the country. And nothing comes out of Europe cheap , the cost is great , the investment is enormous, and the babies can shop elsewhere.

I guess you guys just pay attention to me since i kinda put myself out there. Look around , theres lots of critiquing todo , maybe you dont sell parts for "crazy" prices but I bet a few of you work for sucky corporations that do all kinds of messed up stuff.
