Nice job on the hoods, Matt, as well as the lever position. It's like you've done this before or something.

Wow the bike looks so much better than I ever would have gotten it. I am glad it ended up in your capable hands.

I have a payed staff that just does it all for me. Of course, without all of their salaries I could afford much nicer bikes.

Sweet mother of Minnie Pearl, that's purty.

Long ago I had a Superior in Flamboyant Red. Same parts group, too, not that it stayed that way. The oversize, straight-gauge chrome-moly wasn't light, but it sure was stiff. It made a very nice touring bike.

The tubes are internally butted, so technically not exactly straight-guage.

The Superior is far from lowly, it came out great. I like that green paint!
As nice as though GC levers are (and they look just like Superbe Pro's), the ones you opt to use are more period correct and looks the part.

Yeah, I am staying with the weinmann levers, especially now that I butchered the hoods. Those are the original levers to the bike but the hoods were rotten. I definitely don't feel like it's a lowly bike... just figured people would expect to see Nervex lugs and Reynolds tubing.

This is exactly the Schwinn model that I wanted. I had a yellow sports tourer frame that needed parts when Sonatageek sold me this complete one. It reminds me of the electro-forged model that I first bought but has a lot better features.

Thank you, I like it too. The red seems harder to find, but I like it the best. I will probably make some changes if I ride this bike much over the summer. I'd probably swap the chainrings for something smaller and install wider handle bars.

Small bump. I wrapped the bars with black Fizik Microtex today. Maybe eventually I will put skinwall tires on it. I was pleasantly surprised that the fit feels just about perfect, although I have not tested that with a long ride yet. The bike feels pretty nice, maybe a little faster than I expected, sure footed... overall very pleasant.

Sorry for the crappy picture:

Oh Matt! That is such a nice bike.
I have to agree it's a pretty crappy picture though, and just for that, you need to do some C&V penance by posting more and better pics!

I'll take a few when I am out for a ride. My wife took our camera to her mother's house.... like photographing a baby is more important than a bicycle

I took that picture with the camera on my mac....

Thank you! Your Super Sport looks really nice. It's definitely in nicer shape than my bike and I like the Campus Green better than the Lime Green.

I'm Campus green with Super Sport envy... I know that was awful, but I HAD to type it.

Are a lot of those parts NOS? It's rare to see those centerpulls shine like that!

Ok, more pictures. Still not great, but much better. The paint reminds me of American muscle cars of the era. My Uncle has a "plum crazy purple" Dodge Dart.... seems like that could have been a Schwinn color.

I'm glad this bike didn't come with the original craptastic saddle.

Great job!

I have Superior frame that is up-graded with a japanese drive-train; after seeing your bike, I will be using GC levers

It's hard to narrow it down, but my muscle car dream choice might be the Plum-crazy Challenger. Since that's never going to happen it's easier to attain dream bikes. You definitely have a trophy with this Superior.
