Pre-1970's Motobecane Restoration Shots
Hey everyone.
I just finished up a long overdue restoration on my pre-1970's Motobecane. A bike I still, to this day, cannot identify with a model. I'm guessing this is an earlier frame as I've never seen those strange stamped dropouts, before.
Either way, this bike has a special place in my heart as it was my first, nice road bike. It was also my main rider for a few years, until I finally accepted that it just wasn't my size.
It's an odd, but wonderful frame with its front derailleur cable bracket, custom paint job and oddity Suntour Command shifters, which I know I will regret getting rid of but they fit the bike so well.
Anyhow, I thought I would show the group what she looks like in all her glory as it's taken quite some time to get her back to the shape I feel acceptable before finding a new home.
Enjoy.

I realize the saddle isn't period appropriate in the least (which I thought someone would call me on) but come on, not even a peep on any of the other details?!

Awesome. Paint job is crazy. If you don't look too close (like at the lovely French rake of the fork), this wins my "old bike looks like a new bike" award.

I wish I did, Miyata110, but alas, all I have is what you see. Bad record keeping on my part.
Roll - The rake on this fork is wonderful. The ride is really very comfortable.
Thanks for the unofficial award Much obliged!
