There are 2 generations of Yoshio Konno-built Specalized Allez - the 1st has 'Allez' embossed on the seat stay eye and the 2nd has the stylised 'S' of Specialized in the same place. From the photo you provide it's not possible to be sure if it has the offset fork crown common to both models due to the angle.

That's not the Rensho crown, nor are those lugs filed nicely enough to suggest Konno's construction.

Judging by the gap between the rear wheel and the seat tube I'd say it's a pretty low-end ride.

Ah! I hadn't relised there were other photos... yes, you're right. Something I forgot to say is that to the best of my knowledge the Konno Allez were all red.

Thanks, Dawes-man and Kurt! Figured it out later that day b/c of the short crowns...blue is not original paint so it took some time to find other comparisons. Still love my Allez, and it keeps me flying.

These two pics show the 2nd and 3rd generation 3Rensho Allez bikes. The first, which came out in 1981 and was sold into 1982, did not have markings on the stay caps. It had "allez" on the top tube in a different font than the later 82-83 model, where "allez" was placed on the down tube. 1984 brought Campagnolo dropouts instead of earlier Shimano.
