Brooks Vintage Bike from 1950's

Hi Vintage bike enthusiasts,

I have a Vintage Brooks Bike that belongs to my father in law. He has been the sole owner of this bike since the 50's. It has a leather seat with a brass stamp stating "Brooks" brand. The body in in tact with all original parts, it has rust is several places and has been touched up with gold spray paint, it has the orginal tyres as far as I know as they look very old also. I have no idea about these bikes at all but know that such an old bike with all its bits could potentially be gold to the collector and would be a fantastic bike to either restore or use as parts. GBSportsMK3, this is stamped on the bike. The burning question is, how much do such bikes sell for, I have done some research but can't see to find anything as old as this to give me an idea. I am in Australia by the way and would greatly appreciate any help or advice you could share. Thanks so much, so looking forward to responses. Regards Lidia

Brooks didn't make bikes; that's the maker of the saddle.

To figure out anything else, we probably need so see pictures.

You have attached files that only you can see since they are on your hard drive.

Try photobucket.com or flicker.com to host your pictures.

I have no idea how to download the pics, its not the normal broswer and attach system, beats me. Thanks anyway, I have found several images of BSA bikes and the one we have is a 50's style with a brooks seat, Ill put it on ebay starting price $200.00 and see how auction pans out.

... good luck

Not to be a downer but ebay is a bad outlet for such bikes. Most people aren't interested in paying shipping, and few people use ebay to search for local sales.

Secondly, in anything less than mint condition that bike is probably not worth half of $200.
